Ammar ibn Yasir (RA) was among the first few muslims who accepted Prophet Muhammad (sa) call of Submission to one and only God (ISLAM). At that time the environment for new muslims were unexplainably hostile. The muslims used to pray secretively. The parents of Ammar (ra) didnt like his conversion at first. But with time they too got themselves attuned to the call of UNITY OF GOD. When people came to know that the full family has converted into islam, they got angry. The elite society took them to task. They were first mentally tortured to renounce Islam. But they stood firm in their belief. Then physical torture started. They were severely tortured- yet they held to rope of Islam. At length the Mother of Ammar (ra) named Sumayya(RA) was murdered bruttally in front of her son and husband. Then Ammars father Yasir (RA) was killed. Ammar (ra) could not bear the pain any more. The severe physical and mental shock forced him to renounce ISLAM. The meccan people were satisfied and they left him alive. After the incident Ammar (ra) started to avoid the muslims fearing the torture again. Then Prophet (sa) asked him what was the matter. Ammar (ra) said He has said to the people that he does not believe in ALLAH and Muhmmad (sa) as his messenger. The prophet asked him again, what was in his heart when he uttered those word. Ammar (ra) replied," I never told that from heart. Their torture didnt make my heart deviate. I just told that to escape torture." The prophet (sa) told him not to worry about his words - he was still a muslim and adviced him to tell the same thing again if they came back again. A FEW INTERESTING FACTS -- 1.Ammars (ra) mother Summaya (ra) was the first martyr in defending ISLAM. She was the first one who gave away her life defendng her belief in one and almighty God. May Allah grant her paradise. 2. In the severe insult and physical torture the YASIR (RA) FAMILY is a whole didnt give up the truth. In defending truth two of them died. But while going through this the never despaired from the mercy of ALLAH. In this worldly life they may have been tortured, their life time in this earthly life may be short but in the context of a everlasting world to come they will be blessed by The Creator. SO WHOEVER OF US ARE GOING THROUGH TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF LIFE WE SHOULD KEEP GOING ... MAY WE NEVER DESPAIR IN THE MERCY OF ALLAH, MAY WE KEEP REMINDING EACH OTHER THE MERCY OF ALLAH ON US MAY WE NEVER STAND AWAY FROM ISLAM EVEN IF WE ARE TO FACE LIFE THREATENING CONSEQUENCE AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER IN RIGHTEOUSNESS. MAY ALLAH KEEP US PATIENT AND MAY HE GIVE US PEACE AND MERCY IN THIS LIFE AND HEREAFTER.
