Our media,especially our TV channels have a duty to nurture and promote our very own rich culture. Media has more influence on us. But what is doing channel I?They televise a such program which basically teaches the young girls how to walk on the ramp and expose themselves.The name of the program is "Lux Channel I Super Star". Definitely,we,Bangladeshis, have a rich culture which shapes our life style,dress codes, behavior and beliefs etc. It is our duty to foster our culture and pss it on to our next generation Regrettably, we are much more interested in western culture and the culture of our bordering country.Nowadays, Indian dress codes and Bollywood is affecting and shaping our behavior and values which seems funny to me, though it is a srious issue.Why funny? What kind of people we are,who follows or are much more busy in absorbing other's culture. One thing i tried to know that what is the basic objective of this program? Business or anything else.If it is business, auhtority do not have any right to play with our culture and Islamic values. Let see what LCISS authority Says: [sb]"These are the young women who love to play with their beauty, want to flaunt their inner and external beauty and aspire to become that magical mix we call Luxness."[/sb] However, beauty is not a thing to play with or expose infront of mass people.Is it?? And do you think the program is being running on the same track to flaunt inner beauty??They put the participants in such dresses which are not compatible enough with our culture and Islam does not support such dress code as well.Once, i saw an episode where girls were walking on ramp some wierd expressions on their faces wearing such dresses which can be termed as Western or Indian with .They claim that they brings talents.My question is what kind of talent are they bringing?How these talents are facilitating our societ??Bringing some people who are talented in drama and having good outlook is how much helpful or fruitful for our society in going forward as a nation as a large amount is being invested in this program. Such amount can be used in another real talent hunt,such as Leaders from diffrent educational Institution who will bear the torch of the nation.Or, this amount can be used for those people who are far away from education. Becaus eof this program,nowadays, young girls are thinking how to be a beauty queen instead of thinking how to be a doctor or engineer.They are now complled think in such way and their creativity is abolishing. Would it not be better if a girl think how to build a such career where she can contribute in national context instead of thinking how to be a Star spending 3months?? Well, this program is simply violating our culture and destroying generation. The girls who have become Stars from this program,what have they done for the society?what is the benefit of the people who are sending sms spending 2.30tk to make them star? The concept should be changed in a positive way.A certain portion of the money should be donated or utilized for the socity.Winners must have some commitment to work for the society.Some other suggestion can be made.Otherwise, channel I should stop televising this program.
