Mulla Nasruddin had an insatiable craving for knowledge, but did not seem to know what knowledge was. As a result he asked a local wise man the stupidest questions, always based upon random assumptions. One day the Mulla noticed that his donkey was missing. Instantly he ran to the wise-man’s house. ‘Well, Mulla, what it is this time?’ ‘My donkey is missing! Where can I find it?’ The wise man was quite fed up with the Mulla. ‘Nasruddin,’ he said, ‘the donkey has run off, turned into a man and been appointed the magistrate in the next town.’ Thanking the wise-man for this information, the Mulla rushed to the court in the next town. There sat the magistrate, and Nasruddin shook his fist at him: ‘Come home at once, you foolish animal!’ The magistrate was furious. ‘Who are you and how dare you talk to me like that? I’ll have you sent to the cells!’ ‘I’m the well-known Mulla Nasrudin, and I have it on the best authority (apparently from Buddhijibi) that you are my donkey.’ That’s ridiculous. Nobody in his right senses would credit such a thing!’ Nasruddin drew himself up to his full height. ‘Say what you like,’ he said, ‘I prefer to believe the statement of a wise man rather than that of a donkey.’ If Nasrudin were alive today where would he probably go for searching his donkey? -To the place where justice are pre-defined, devised or easy to be manipulated or to the very place where the decrees and mandates are formed?! Donkeys are the privileged creatures of the nature who follow their masters without any questions! When human being inhibits the capacity they become true identical creatures obeying without any innate discontent. If donkeys prevails the systems and institutions we have only one thing to do with – to look forward to see the conscience restored! We seek the wisdom pervades to help us to get rid of the donkeys and to discard the confusions. Most of all those who don’t belong to the above genre, in no way, are to be hurt or humiliated by any of such jokes rather we are ready to hail you keeping up ‘head held high’!
