Yesterday I was told that my cousin sister seemed to have a single aim in life and that would be to become a Trophy Wife. So far I heard that she spent over 30,000/- for this Eid shopping. This is hearsay statement as we belong to separate poles, therefore don't have a very intimate relationship the way sisters should have, so the amount may be even higher but not lower in any case mind you. And point to be noted that she is not a daughter of an industrialist. This is all very hard earned money of her mum which never seem to bother her at all according to her mum ( and the act says it all though ). She has no intention nor does she have the calibre to be some hotshot official who earns in six figures a month within the age of 30. And still she has to have this lifestyle upheld. So the only solution to that is to become a trophy wife. Now what is a trophy wife? According to Wikipedia ,A trophy wife is commonly used to describe a wife, usually young and attractive, regarded as a status symbol for the husband, often older and affluent. Now that is the literal meaning of Trophy Wife. I asked all my Facebook guy friends to come up with what qualities they would want in a "Trophy Wife". I am just copying and pasting the summary of their answers: The elements of a Trophy Wife are: 1. hot 2. in anything, everything and nothing 3. definitely and ultimately reliant on you (the husband) for all her needs... 4. gold-digger perhaps 5. show off to ur mates/colleagues 6. and finally...SUPER HOTT, with a touch of intellectual disability to comprehend most 'common sense' issues faced by all ppl, let alone create or solve problems... After going through this survey, I had been wondering why becoming a Trophy Wife is a more attractive concept than to have your own separate identity among the westerners and also among some of our desi girls these days. Is ushered by wealth all that matters in life? I will never be able to figure it out unless I am told why a woman thinks this way. I have always found Hilary Clinton or Marie Curie or Margaret Thatcher way more appealing than any woman half their ages and with a stat of 36-24-36 and with blonde hair. Isn't it a woman's intellect that makes her sexy in every way? Well most guys who believe in having a Trophy Wife don't see it this way and I have no complaints with regard to that. I am not a guy and little do I care as to what they think. What saddens me is that even the women think these guys' way nowadays. I don't want to sound like a feminist but if this is how the women still feel like, can they at all ask for equal rights? It is all so depressing for the womankind.
