Take a 5-Minute Flying Tour of Burning Man

Ever been to Burning Man, known to long-time attendees as "That Thing In the Desert"? Perhaps you always meant to take a trip out to the festival, in which a city is built the week before Labor Day on an ancient lake bed, 100 miles north of Reno, Nev. But perhaps you also read reports that it has been taken over by the well-to-do of Silicon Valley and their camps full of butlers and chefs.
Time for a reality check — and what better way to get one than to hitch a ride over Burning Man on a drone fitted with a GoPro camera?

San Franciscan Eddie Codel took the footage at the 2013 festival two weeks ago, using a DJI Phantom Quadrocopter. The HD footage is one of the best and fastest introductions to Burning Man you'll likely see; it truly conveys the size of the city and its artwork, from the ground up.
As you can see, Burning Man during the daytime is composed of a lot of compelling artwork on the dusty playa canvas, plenty of bicycles and quite a few hula hoops. Silicon Valley this ain't.
Towards the end of the video, however, you may notice a familiar sight: the Facebook like, rendered in gold outline. This isn't Mark Zuckerberg's camp, although the Facebook founder did visit this year — it's a project by Dutch artists called "Like4Real."
