The major news dominating the tech world today is Apple's big iPhone event, its first event since the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. But Apple isn't the only one rolling out new products — on Sept. 23, Microsoft will announce its new Surface tablets with improved battery life. And Twitter acquired MoPub, a startup that helps clients monitor their mobile advertisements, to add real-time bidding for mobile ads.
