You can now carry your Instagram photos in your pocket on more than just your smartphone.
A new Kickstarter campaign is working to turn your photos, including those from Instagram, into a card holding, cash toting wallet. Backers of the campaign will receive an access code they can use to design the wallet online using their personal photos as the back, front and inside of the wallet. Users select up to six photos: two for the outside, two for the inside front pockets, and two for the interior money pocket.

The wallets — which are made out of a synthetic material known as Tyvek — are then printed, cut, and handmade on a sewing machine by Mark and Anna Abramson, a husband and wife team out of Sausalito, Calif.

Originally the campaign didn't support Instagram photos, but after many potential backers requested they be included, the Abramson's added a new perk on Wednesday to accommodate. For $35, donors can design their wallet, called a ThinFolio, using the photos they've taken on Instagram. (A wallet designed with non-Instagram images is the same cost.)
The Abramson's have been making these wallets from their home since 2004, and the ThinFolio name speaks to the item's trim appearance (it's less than a 0.1" thick). Mark and Anna even mailed out their wedding invitations as handcrafted wallets back in 2008.

The couple hopes to raise enough money from their Kickstarter campaign to purchase new sewing machines and turn their operation from a hobby into a sustainable business, according to the Kickstarter page. The campaign, which began on Oct. 8, has raised a little under half of its $20,000 fundraising goal with three weeks remaining.
"We love the reaction friends and family have to their ThinFolio wallets," they wrote on the campaign page. "We want to bring our special ThinFolio joy to the widest possible audience and begin a whole new conversation about your wallet."
