“To empower our English language skill”---B.H.Mahini We know that, we are Bangladeshi, our mother tongue is Bangla. But English is an international language. So we have to know English language, because now a days way of the world’s communication is English. Social communication is always depend on English. Such as internet, e-mail, Facebook etc. Without knowing English we cannot pass any single day. If we want to overcome the limitation and barriers of developing skills of speaking English we have to take some dynamic and practical initiatives. These are below: • Exchanging greetings and personal information in English. • Describing and talking about pictures. • Asking questions and receiving answers. • Sharing ideas, thoughts and opinions. • Arranging debates. • Conducting interview. • Arranging pair work and group work. • Repetition drill chain drill and group drill. • Dialogue practice. • Role play and language game. • Using target language. • Arranging general knowledge competitions. • Providing proper motivation and encouragement. • Audio-visual aids. • Allowing mistakes and very skillfully and gradually developing accuracy. • Creating an English speaking classroom atmosphere. • Proper monitoring and evaluation of student’s performance. • Removing students panic, inertia and shyness in speaking English. • Providing different relevant and necessary assistance and facilities by the concerned authorities.
