The Most-Searched Celebrities of 2013

Who ruled the Internet in 2013? You might be tempted to answer, "Miley Cyrus" — but you'd be wrong. (In fact, Cyrus seems to have ruled the Internet only in Australia.) We've gathered global search data and unearthed some interesting trends and findings.
In the infographic below, you'll see the top 10 most-searched people across 12 countries: Australia, China, Spain, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the UK and the U.S. From movie stars and musicians to athletes and politicians, there's a broad range of people who were top of mind in 2013. Here are some of the most interesting findings from the data:
The Kardashians might be massive global celebrities, but no one from the Kardashian family cracked the top 10 in China, Spain, Brazil, India, Italy or Japan.
The 10 most-searched people in China, India and Japan are all local celebrities.
Beyonce was queen of U.S. search trends, topping a list that includes Rihanna, Taylor Swift, the Biebs, Miley Cyrus and President Barack Obama.
Kate Middleton — with the help of the Royal Baby — broke into the top 10 in the UK, Italy and Canada.
