A Deceased Wife's Emotional Christmas Wish for Her Family


The holidays can be especially difficult for those dealing with the sudden loss of a family member.
After losing his wife Brenda to ovarian cancer in 2011, David Schmitz and his family are still dealing with her passing. David immediately tears up at the mention of Brenda's name and continues to choke up as he talks about the signs he believes show she's still with him and their family every day.

And that is something Brenda wanted to make sure of as her family continues to process her absence. The the mother of four was a fan of local Iowa radio station Star 102.5's annual "Christmas Wish" program, so before she died, she wrote a letter with some very special requests and gave it to a friend to pass along when the time was right.
Two years later, the time had come. In the letter dated on Aug. 2011, Brenda gave her blessing to David and the new woman in his life, fiancée Jane. Brenda thanks Jane, saying "her efforts are truly appreciated. I love you whoever you are. Talk to me, you are heard."
The video above captures the emotional reveal of Brenda's letter. There isn't a dry eye in the studio.
