I thought Dr, Tushar was a smart person. He should study before he comments on Social Business. But he did not. First of all , Normal business work for maximizing profit , social business for solving social problem with social responsibility to society and profit is secondary objective for survival. As for example, Cosmetic/Alcohol industry cannot be social business for Bangladeshi poor women, as they need food, cloths, pure water, medicine etc more than cosmetic/ Alcohol. So, a Social Entrepreneur indentifies the problem and develops his business around it. He will supply the product with minimum profit just to sustain the development. So the needy will get it at affordable price. In social business social responsibility is always top priority. We all know the curse of profit maximization. It turns many of the corporate world into Monsters or inhuman. And that is why social business is getting so popular. In context to Bangladesh, donation is used to vanish after some time but if this comes as social business then that will be renewable source as it will generate something and continue to generate. Also foreign investment will come in Bangladesh in this way. Nothing to lose but something we can gain.
