I Interest to Professional Communication. SMS Service is being added with the Automation System of BEPZA at Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ). The General Manager of DEPZ opened this service officially with the presence of all the Investors of DEPZ on January 11, 2012. Through this service the concerned Enterprise users are receiving SMS notification instantly of their submitted Export, Import and Subcontracting application after approval or rejection. This helps the Application Processing System faster. As a result the execution of the Automation System is being more dynamic. At present there are 101 Enterprises at Dhaka EPZ. Out of them 69 are foreign investors, 21 local investors and 11 joint ventures. The total amount of investment is US$ 815 Million and the total number of employees is 87,387. All the Enterprises of DEPZ are receiving their permission letter in respect of individual Export, Import and Subcontracting through the Automation System. Now Enterprises need not to submit the application physically to the office of DEPZ for issuing those permits. By using the Automation System Enterprises are getting the permits from their own office applying through online. As a result time and labor both are saving. The lead time of Enterprises is decreased, process efficiency of work is increased and precision is ensured. Averages of 500 applications are being processed through this Automation System per day. Even the gate pass issue of vehicle carrying product for both the Gate of DEPZ is also included to Automation System. It is noted that the Automation System of BEPZA at DEPZ was launched in June 07, 2010 as a pilot project with the 15 Enterprises to establish the aims of Digital Bangladesh. And the System opens for all the Enterprises since August 2010. Now all the Enterprises of DEPZ are getting their benefits by using this Automation System. The project was initiated and implemented with the partnership of DFID and European Union under the direction of IFC with the financial support by BICF and overall supervision and patronization by BEPZA. The Automation System has developed and maintained by a local renowned IT company M/s. Business Automation Ltd.
