I saw some muslim ladies ware niqab/burqa(full face covered) and doing there phd in my university in canada. Also one more thing niqab or beard can be used as a silent protest against so called western cultural colonization that imposed by colonial forces and their proxies for a long time. Just look how we feel ashemed to ware our original cultural dress like lungi in public place! Real progressive thought dont need any mimicking rather believing in own identity, in our case our identity is Bengali muslim, dont ignore the muslim part else we will be detouch from the root. unfortunately dr. iqbal and like minded people did that so even with their good(i give them benefit of doubt) intention they failed to change the society. Finally you may notice i am writing in english! Why? Because my BD university teach me how to type in english and never in bengali! Our system encourage following foreign and feeled ashmed of our root. When I talked chiness student in my campus i just wonder how bad their english is, even chiness professors sometime! but how smart and proud they are. Do you know that chiness just take communisam as economicsl system their relegion and family life still based on traditional values. Can we be? Most probably not until people like dr. iqbal leading our intellectual circle who just dont have any honor towards the relegious beleif of general people.
