""Fun with GRE Vocab Words""

i have no specialty

So, I’ve been studying for the GRE for a few weeks now (scheduled for October 30 – it’s creeping up on me, and I’ve realized my vocabulary is, indeed, terrible), and my first intensive vocab session was during the Republican Convention. As you can imagine, the sentences I came up with to help me remember the words have stuck in my head. Of course, these are a bit longer than the ones I came up with back then, but I just wanted to share a few: - Engender (v.): The fact that so many people are hearing these blatant lies engenders so much rage in me I could spit. - Fledgling (n. or adj.): A certain speaker is quite the fledgling, and it’s clear her talking points are simply well rehearsed. - Ephemeral (adj.): I have faith that this evident excitement is ephemeral, and it will all change once people realize they’ve lost their brains. - Buttress (v. or n.): They will do anything to buttress their arguments, even if it’s the equivalent of holding up a brick with a toothpick. - Dessicated (adj): The more wine I drink, the more dessicated my mouth gets (but it’s worth it for the brain numbing). You get the point.
