15 Feb.2010 is a red letter day for all of the students of Textile Engineering. In this day we came to know that the cabinet approved the decision of upgrading the College of textile technology to Textile University. Actually we, the students of Textile College were eagerly waiting for this day. It was our demand of heart. Our previous brothers had come out to the street to fulfill this demand. After almost a decade of our expectation we got the happy news. Through this university we may able to contribute the country a lot. A new field of textile research will be created, from where the Textile Mills as well as the garment sector will get right solution of their industrial problems. When we admitted to the CTET, we were very much disappointed, because we got admitted a college leaving leading positioned subjects of Dhaka University even BUET. Being a student of Textile College many of us had to face different kinds of odd situations such as some people asked “getting double A+ you get admitted in a diploma institute?”Some advised “after completing Diploma you should try to manage B.sc”. Even someone told to one of my friends that it will better to get admitted in Glass and Ceramics institute than Textile College. Like these, hundreds of example may be given. Now we can introduce ourselves as a student of University, it will be great pleasure for us. We may not face such kinds of odd and insulting situations.
