অনেক হাসি-কান্না মিথ্যা হতে পারে কিন্তু প্রতিটি দীর্ঘশ্বস'ই সত্য।

আসছে ২৫ ডিসেম্বর যিশু খৃষ্ট্রের (p.b.u.h) জন্মদিন হিসাবে উৎযাপিত হবে খৃষ্টান সম্প্রদায়ে। "বড় দিন(CHRISTMAS DAY )" হিসাবে পরিচিত এই দিনটি যে যিশুখৃষ্ট্রের(p.b.u.h) জন্ম দিন হিসাবে পালিত হয় তা অনেকই জানেন না। কিন্তু ২৫ ডিসেম্বর কি সত্যিই যিশু খিস্ট্রের (p.b.u.h) জন্মদিন ? বাইবেল-এ যিশু খিস্ট্রের(p.b.u.h) জন্মদিন বলে কোন সুনির্দিষ্ট দিনের কথা উল্লেখ করা নাই। কেউ কেউ ভিন্ন কথা বলেন, এই ভিন্নমতাবলম্বিরা কিছু যুক্তি দিয়ে বলতে চেয়েছেন যিশু খিস্ট্রের (p.b.u.h) জন্মদিন ২৫ ডিসেম্বর নয়।

(Jesus' parents came to Bethlehem to register in a Roman census) কিন্তু, Roman and Judean শাসকরা জানত শীতকালে জনসংখ্যা জরিপের আয়োজন বাস্তব সম্মত না এবং তা জনসমর্থনও পাবে না। জনসংখ্যা জরিপের মতো প্রোগ্রাম নবান্নের পর সেপ্টেম্বর/অক্টোবর যখন আবহাওয়া ভাল থাকে এবং যোগাযোগের জন্য পথ-ঘাট যথেষ্ট শুস্ক থাকে।

Luke's হিসাবানুযায়ী জনসংখ্যা জরিপের বিষয়টি ”ডিসেম্বরে যিশুর জন্ম” এই তথ্যের পরিপন্থি। এগরারিয়ানদের জন্য বসন্ত/ নবান্ন পরবর্তী জনসংখ্যা জরিপকার্য উপযুক্ত সময়। তাহলে যিশু খিস্ট্রের (p.b.u.h) জন্ম কোন সময়ে হতে পারে ? কাজেই যিশুর (p.b.u.h) সম্ভব্য জন্মের মাস সেপ্টেম্বর/অক্টোবর, ডিসেম্বর নয়।
