Yesterday (28-09-2009) from the prothom alo we know that two police officers were dismissed from their job for the time being because of both responsible and involved in killing a man under their custody( due to heavy torture). The O.C of the Norshingdi thana is also involved and he fleed to save his life from the anger of local people. From the news it is also known that the man was tortured as his family could not afford bribe as per demand of police . This O.C was not arrested and this is a bad news for us as he will now try to save their lives by using influence in every steps of judgement procedure . From the news papers and TV media we also know that last year (August, 2008) A police inspector killed his wife at indira road, Dhaka and burried her body with out post mortem. After three months he again got married and after five months when the grave was dug for doing postmortem no body parts were found except some small bones . As the murderer police officer was not arrested he adopted all means to save his life (we knew it later from the mother of the girl). In post mortem report it was metioned that the post mortem could not be done due to excessive mutilation/ rotten. Today(29-09-2009), When I saw the news in SKY TV channel that England police asked sorry for their negligence regarding death of mom and daughter who died after long suffering . Even the respective department of the govt also expressed their feelings in this regard. Can we Imagine it in our country BANGLADESH? NO AND NEVER! FROM THE STARTING OF MY KNOWLEDGE TO TILL TO DAY I NEVER HEARD OR SEE ANY NEWS IN THE NEWS PAPER THAT A POLICE MAN IS PUNISHED FOR HIS CRIME IN BANGLADESH. THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW ALTHOUGH THEY ARE MEN OF LAW. WHERE IS HUMAN RIGHTS GROUPS? OR THEY ARE BUSY WITH THEIR PROJECT? Could our govt can give their attention on it or our police force will go like this. This type of incidents act as catalyst to oust any govt from their power. No power is endless every body should remember this! So, my urge to every body please write somthing on this topic to attract others, it is a great issue. Otherwise a day will come when nobody will get time to flee from this.
