Six more people, who recently travelled to the USA, were tested positive for swine flu (H1N1) virus, raising the total number to seven in the country. "Seven cases of the swine flu were detected till June 23 in the country," Director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control & Research (IEDCR) Prof Mahmudur Rahman confirmed this to reports at a press briefing in the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) in the capital. "Most of the affected people, age between two and a half years to 20, return to the country from USA on June 18," Mahmudur added. Citing the condition of the infected people as mild, the IEDCR director said, they were quarantined and given treatment. On June 18, first case of the swine flu infection in the country was detected. A 19-year-old male, who also travelled to the USA, was found infected with the H1N1 virus responsible for swine flu. The pandemic has killed 231 people and infected more than 52,000 people in 100 countries of the world till June 22.
