this ad in todays newspaper made me very annoyed. i have probably never seen an uglier ad ever. kfc is not promoting love! they are just exploiting some peoples desire to make their loved one (or potentially loved one) happy, to maximize profit. this is the ugly face of commercialism. luckily for us living in bangladesh, we have the beautiful celebration of pahela falgun the day before valentines day. to me, that is a much bigger and more beautiful celebration of love and the meaning of life than the artificial hysteria of valentines day created by profit maximizing corporations! we may all have a romeo or juliet inside of us. my advice is to celebrate love a little bit every day, not wait for 14th february. ad and photo taken from the daily star, 14th feb 09.
