Each Friday, we're bringing you a list of new accounts added to various social media platforms — whether they be celebrities, politicians or ... airlines? Here's your social media roundup for the week ending Sept. 20:
The most notable edition this week was Apple CEO Tim Cook, who surprised everyone when he quietly added his handle to the ranks Friday afternoon. While Cook himself didn't make a big deal about joining the party, everyone else was pretty happy to see him — he gained more than 33,000 followers and a verification tick within the first hour of sending his first tweet.
Visited Retail Stores in Palo Alto today. Seeing so many happy customers reminds us of why we do what we do.

For all of you sports fans out there, Ashley Young, an English footballer who plays for Manchester United and the English national team, has joined Twitter. Looks like someone had a case of the FOMOs.
Always hear the lads going on about Twitter so decided it was about time I joined!

Also joining Twitter this week was N. Chandrababu Naidu, India's former chief minister and the president of the center-leftist Teluga Desam Party. Naidu is known in Indian politics for being especially tech savvy, so it's a wonder he's so late to the game.
From my first computer in 84 to twitter today. From transparency & accountability in governance to creating employment. Thanks to technology!

This week's oddball account goes to Ryanair, a low-cost European air line based in Dublin. This is probably part of a massive effort by the company to improve customer service, as it was recently voted the worst of the 100 biggest brands serving Britain.
The company is already bringing some snark to its social presence, taking a dig at Which magazine, which released the survey.
Just two #Ryanair passengers out of 3m surveyed have ever heard of Which magazine... but neither of them have read it pic.twitter.com/IEUfNA8vBF

Finally, finally, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has jumped into the Vine pool. Remember: that six-second video plays on a constant loop, so maybe set the afternoon aside. You've been warned.
