Sorry, Neil: Carrie Underwood Is Twitter's Most Viral Emmys Star

The winner for the most discussed moment of the 65th Annual Emmys — according to tweets per minute — is Carrie Underwood, for her tribute performance of "Yesterday" by the Beatles.
Underwood's performance, which honored the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, brought in 17,090 tweets per minute, beating the runner-up for most Twitter reactions, Elton John's performance (13,720 TPM).

The coolest thing about singing "Yesterday" on the #Emmys is the sweet letter I got from @PaulMcCartney giving me his blessing to sing it!

Twitter released the data early Monday morning to highlight the most discussed moments of the show. Other top tweets involved Breaking Bad winning Best Drama Series (12,090 TPM) and Jeff Daniels' upset win for Best Drama Actor (11,240 TPM).
Twitter said the most buzzed-about shows on the site were Breaking Bad, Homeland, 30 Rock and Boardwalk Empire.
CBS made an extra effort to bring viewers closer to what was happening live. For example, an iPad framed as a “Twitter mirror” was positioned near the stage to give those leaving the spotlight a way to interact with those listening on Twitter.
Although the Emmys didn't have the same viral buzz as the recent MTV Video Music Awards, there were a few standout moments, including Neil Patrick Harris' opening monologue and this guy's awkward stage exit.
Some of the night's biggest stars added behind-the-scenes color via Twitter, too.
Seriously can anyone at the Emmy's bring a nice array of proteins and fried bits to @campsucks and me? Vewwy Hungwy.

Netflix's Orange Is the New Black also chimed into the online conversation.

Six-second videos had a place at the show, too. This Vine video shows The Colbert Report team reacting to its win in the Outstanding Variety Series.
