Samsung's Galaxy Gear may not even be out in the United States market yet, but the tech company is already looking to revamp its much-hyped smart watch.
A company official told the Korea Times the smart watch "lacks something special" and plans to make adjustments in the near future.

"We've acknowledged that our Gear lacks something special," he said. "With more investment for user interface and user experience, Samsung devices will be better in terms of customer satisfaction."
In an email to Mashable, the Korea Times said the low-ranking official was sharing his personal thoughts on the product. The quote does not represent the company's overall viewpoint.
The report — first spotted by UnwiredView — notes Samsung is eyeing new hires “with proven knowledge in user interface and user experience” to help make the $299 Galaxy Gear more attractive to users.
It also plans to drop the hefty price tag in the future, but will keep it as-is for the time being to make up for research and development costs. A dip in price will likely help influence consumer adoption, too.
The Galaxy Gear will include more than 70 apps when it launches in October, various usability features, including placing your hand over the smart watch's face to decline a call. Developer APIs are on the way, which will help the product make a name for itself.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear extends the smartphone experience to a 1.6-inch screen on your wrist. The smart watch has a lot of promise, but it feels like an unpolished device.
The Gear has a 1.6-inch 320 x 320 touchscreen LCD. Menus look crisp, but images weren't the best.
The screen can display four apps at a time. Users will be able to download more Gear apps from a special store.
The home button is on the side -- a wise choice.
The camera is on the strap.
The camera can capture still pictures and video.
You can access some of the basic settings of the camera.
Samsung's S Voice assistant is easily accessible via the Gear.
If S Voice doesn't hear you, you'll see this message.
