Romney's Presidential Dreams Crash in Emotional 'Mitt' Trailer

Netflix's new trailer for Mitt, a documentary about Mitt Romney's run for president of the United States, begins where the Republican candidate's journey ends: the moment he realizes he lost the election to Barack Obama.
The film, directed by Greg Whiteley, premieres Jan. 24. It details the behind-the-scenes actions of Romney's aspirations starting in 2006 and concluding at his concession speech in 2012. Among the moments Whiteley captured was this odd way to iron his clothes:

“I first met and filmed the Romney family in Park City [Utah] in 2006 as they gathered to discuss whether Mitt should run for president," Whiteley said in a statement. "Over the next seven years. I couldn't believe I was filming inside rooms and situations I had no business being in. Now that I've finished I couldn't be more pleased to share this experience with audiences around the world through Netflix."

Earlier this month, Netflix announced that Mitt would debut on its online streaming service — a product that, coincidentally, has been ramping up its film acquisitions as of late.
The film will make its offline debut at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 17.
