The Trick Play With the Weirdest Name in the History of Trick Plays

Arkansas State reached deep, deep into its playbook to get just one first down during the GoDaddy Bowl on Sunday night. The trick play had an excellent result, but an even better name: "Hide the Midget," according to the game broadcast.
Check it out for yourself above and see if you can spot the "midget" in question—a 5-foot-9 wide receiver named R.J. Fleming.

According to CBS Sports, the play has something of an interesting backstory. Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, who leads his Tigers against Florida State in Monday night's BCS National Championship, has included "Hide the Midget" in his playbook since he was on the Arkansas coaching staff in 2006. He coached Arkansas State last year before taking over at Auburn this season. The play, it seems, is something of his legacy at Arkansas State.
Arkansas State won Sunday night's GoDaddy Bowl, beating Ball State 23-20. We'll see how Malzahn's current team fares on Monday night against Florida State.
