LOS ANGELES — Julia Parmisciano, a shy 15-year-old girl, unexpectedly ran into singer Demi Lovato. Shortly after, Parmisciano secured Lovato's signature, as the pink-haired pop star left the KIIS FM gifting suite for the 56th Grammy Awards.
Still buzzing with excitement, her mouth agape, Julia turned to her mother, Grace, to show off her notebook, which was quickly filling up with celebrity signatures.
Julia's access to the bold-face names during Grammys week came about thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

After the brief celebrity encounter, Julia's mother began to cry, but they were tears of joy. Grace was overcome with emotion after seeing her daughter — who in 2011 spent six months in a children's hospital waiting for a heart to replace her weakened one — light up with joy. At 13, Julia finally received the life-saving heart transplant.
Julia is one of four Make-A-Wish kids living out their wishes at this year's Grammys week (watch the video above to meet the others — Lauren Thorton, 17; Janera Smith; 18; and Kellie Lorrain, 20).
The trip will culminate on Sunday when they will ride in a limousine to attend the Grammys at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Once there, the group will sit in the bleachers during the red carpet festivities, as well as watch the Grammys ceremony inside the venue.

They've already watched rehearsals, toured The Grammy Museum and met rock band Imagine Dragons and boy band Emblem3.
"I can't function," Julia proclaimed after meeting Drew Chadwick from Emblem3.
