Five Apps to Get the Most Out of Super Bowl Sunday

This Sunday is the biggest day of the year for football fans.
But the Super Bowl is a marathon event and between tracking each play, watching commercials and the halftime show, even the most devoted fans may need some help following the game.

Luckily, there are plenty of apps to fill in the gaps and even give football fans some extra tools to enjoy the game. Between live game updates, connecting with other fans, placing hilarious bets or watching commercials, there's an app for just about every aspect of Super Bowl XLVIII.
Whether you're a hardcore fan, a casual viewer or just watching for the commercials, these apps will help you get the most out of your Super Bowl Sunday and stay on top of every detail between kickoff and the post-game show.
The NFL’s official app for Super Bowl XLVIII is a one stop shop for everything you need to know about Sunday’s game. You can find everything from scouting and injury reports, to in-depth team statistics, to factoids about every Super Bowl ever played. The app is free to download on iOS (the Android version is $1.99) but you’ll need to make a one-time in-app purchase of $1.99 to access most of the content.
Should you be unlucky enough to find yourself away from a TV or computer screen this Super Bowl Sunday, you can live stream the entire game from your iPad with Fox Sports Go. The free app's live streaming services are normally limited to subscribers of one of six partner cable providers but Fox is temporarily lifting all restrictions on Sunday so fans across the country can tune in from their iPads.
Forget Magic Squares, would you rather bet on specific stats like which quarterback will throw the most completions or which team will get the most sacks? Gamblino lets users bet on an array of scenarios from who will be the game's MVP to hilarious prop bets. (e.g Will any of the Red Hot Chili Peppers take off their shirts during the halftime show?)
The app uses spreads, moneylines and over/unders straight out of top sportsbooks. And even though no real cash is ever exchanged, users can win real prizes like bar tabs or game tickets.
Think of FanKave as a giant virtual hangout for fans. The free iPad app lets users find and connect with friends and other fans during the game in real-time. Users join "Kaves"where they can stay on top of the game with live play by play updates, group voice chatting and a personalized timeline of tweets and Facebook posts from friends.
The Super Bowl wouldn't be the Super Bowl without the commercials. But not all commercials are created equal. The "Not Buying It" app gives viewers a platform to hold advertisers accountable for commercials they think are sexist. Users can join or start their own campaigns to ask companies to remove offensive content from their ads.
#NotBuyingIt originally began as a Twitter campaign during the 2013 Super Bowl. The app is a result of a successful Indiegogo campaign that raised more than $20,000.
