Fool us once, shame on you, Jimmy Kimmel. Fool us twice, the Internet is going to get very, very angry.
The late-night talk show host has been exposed as the true mastermind behind the viral video that circulated Thursday morning, featuring U.S. Olympic luger Kate Hansen spotting a "wolf" in her hotel in Sochi, according to Inside Edition.

Sandy Caligiore, publicist for the United States Luge Association, confirmed to Inside Edition that Kimmel created the hoax for his talk show.
Most news organizations, Mashable included, covered Hansen's video and tweet with skepticism, telling Hansen to calm down because it was probably just a dog in wolf's clothing.

The video had racked up more than 700,000 views and 2,000 retweets at the time of writing.
Kimmel's brand has become synonymous with pranks and hoaxes. In 2013, he orchestrated a long-con of sorts by spreading a fake video of a girl catching on fire while twerking. His other popular talk show segments include "Lie Witness News," in which a cast member acts as a news reporter who asks questions about fake news events.
Hansen will appear on WFTV-Channel 9 at 11:35 p.m. ET on Thursday and plans to Skype with Kimmel, Caligiore said.
