There's something about a great sci-fi flick that gets our hearts pounding and our imaginations running wild; a large part of this visceral reaction is brought on by the super cool gadgets, gizmos and technology that film creators miraculously bring to life.
Tech featured in film sometimes mimics real life, preludes it or totally overshadows the gadgets actually available on the market today. From futuristic weapons like Star Wars' lightsabers or District 9's alien exosuit, to robot cops and flying cars, iconic sci-fi films throughout history have had us waiting with bated breath for whatever the future of technology has in store.
