Apple Gets Final Approval for New Flagship Store in San Francisco

San Francisco has given Apple the final stamp of approval for the construction of a new flagship retail store in the city's Union Square, Re/code reports.
The new store will replace Apple's current store at Stockton Street. At around 24,819 square feet, it will be some 45 percent larger than the old store, and should generate 50 new jobs.

As for the design of the new store, Apple expects it to be "more iconic" than the famous glass cube store in New York City.
“Our Stockton Street store has been incredibly popular, welcoming over 13 million customers since it opened nine years ago, and we look forward to making a new home on Union Square,” Apple spokeswoman Amy Bessette told Re/code.
Apple did not say when the construction of the new store will begin, but Re/code claims it will likely happen this summer.
