While it normally takes the average person anywhere from 30 to 40 years to retire, it takes a famous Youtuber about five. At least if you're Ray William Johnson.
Johnson is a video blogger and host of the web-series Equals 3, where he discusses the latest viral videos. His channel currently has more than 10 million subscribers and his videos typically get more views than 99% of regular television programming. However, despite all of this success, he is calling it quits on YouTube to move on to other aspects of his career.

“It was fun while it lasted, but I figure I should retire the show while it’s still getting good numbers, as opposed to keeping it going for the next few years and inadvertently running it into the ground," Johnson said in a Facebook post to fans.
YouTube Weekly is a new Mashable show hosted by YouTube star Lamarr Wilson. This week Lamarr also discusses the YouTube Creator Playbook, weekly rankings of the top channels, and our video of the week. Make sure to subscribe to Mashable on YouTube so you don't miss an episode. Also, catch Lamarr's other show, Socially Awkward for some of the week's funniest stories.
