In the hustle and bustle of modern life, it is hard to appreciate all of the people, places and things you interact with on a daily basis. Although you may interact with a myriad of people throughout the day, it is often difficult to see the world from any perspective other than your own.
We’ve been thinking a lot about experiencing life through different perspectives this month as we read the short story collection The UnAmericans by Molly Antopol for Mashable's social book club, MashableReads. Throughout the book, Antopol explores a global and multi-generational Jewish identity by presenting an amalgamation of characters, each situated at a unique point in history. As The UnAmericans bounces between different ages and locations, readers confront themes of hardship, triumph, nostalgia and melancholy from a variety of different perspectives.

We want your help to see everyday life from a new perspective. For this month’s MashReads Instagram challenge, take a photo of an ordinary object from a unique perspective to give us a new way to see the world. For instance, you could show us your car by taking a close up of a wheel or make a glass of water look like an abstract waterfall.
Don’t forget to tag your photo with the hashtag #MashReads. We'll feature our favorites on Mashable, and we will select 15 finalists from the submissions to be eligible to win a prize from the author.
