Rule 4    : all of them/noun, some of them, most of them, everyone of them, none of them কোনো বাক্যের Subject হলে Tag Question এর Subject হবে they.

All of them are very sincere, aren’t they ?Most of them were absent, weren’t they ?Some of them can sing well, can’t they?Most of the girls are intelligent, aren’t they?

Rule 5 : all of you, some of you, most of you, none of you কোন বাক্যের Subject হলে Tag Question এর Subject হবে you.

Some of you can speak well, can’t you?All of you were playing them, weren’t you ?All of you know English, don’t you?    None of you went there, did you?

Rule-6 : Few, little, scarcely, hardly, seldom, barely, never থাকলে Affirmative Tag হবে।

I have few friends, have l?There is little water in the glass, is there?it’s hardly rained in this summer, has it? A barking dog seldom bites, does it?

 

ব্যতিক্রম : I have a few friends, haven’t l?  There is a little water, isn’t there?   

 

Rule-7 : Put, cut, read, cast, spread, hurt, beat, hit, ...এই verb গুলোর Present, Past & Past Participle Form একই ধরনের। So, Be careful while making Tag of those verbs.

He put the book on the table, didn’t he?  she hurt her self, didn’t she?

Rule-8 : Imperative Sentence মূল Verb দিয়ে শুরু হলে will you/won’t you/can you/can’t you/could you/ couldn’t you?ব্যবহৃত হবেঃ-

Wait here a moment, will you/ won’t you?       close the door, will you/ won’t you?Have patience, will you/ won’t you?           come in will you/ won’t you?   Never touch live wire, will you?

Open the door, won’t you? (দরজা খুলতে রাজি আছে কি না ?)

Open the door, will you/can’t you/can you/could you? (দরজা খুলতে বলা হয়েছে)

 

* kindly do my a favour, will/ would, you? Please, friend, help me, will/ would you?

 

Rule-9 :    Imperative Sentence Don’t দিয়ে শুরু হলে will you? ব্যবহৃত হবেঃ-

Don’t forget me, will you ?Rule-10 : Imperative Sentence  Let’s/ Let us দিয়ে শুরু হলে shall we? ব্যবহৃত হবেঃ-

Let’s have a rest now, shall  we?        Let’s do the work, shall we?    Let us discuss the matter, shall we?

Rule-11: Imperative Sentence  Let him/ Let her/ Let them দিয়ে শুরু হলে will you? ব্যবহৃত হবেঃ-

Let me do the work, will, you ?    Let them play here, will you?

Rule-12: Be verb যুক্ত Exclamatory Sentence এর শেষোক্ত Subject এবং Verb অনুযায়ী Tag হবে।

How nice the flower is! isn’t it?   What a pity! isn’t it?

Rule-13: Main verb যুক্ত Exclamatory Sentence এর do/ does/ did হবে।

How sweetly the bird sings!, doesn’t it?   What nice the bird is, isn’t it?

Rule-14: বাক্যের প্রথমে Here/ There/One থাকলে Tag Question- এ here/ there/one হবে।

There are many trees, aren’t there?        Here is the money, isn’t here?One should obey one’s parents, shouldn’t one ?Note: There lived a king, didn’t he ?

Rule-15:  The+ Adjective (Virtuous, Pious, Poor, Rich, Educated, civilized, unfed....) থাকলে They হবে।

The rich are not always happy, are they?The educated should be respected, shouldn’t they?

Rule-16: Complex Sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে (If/that/ when/ though/ who যুক্ত অংশ বাদ দিয়ে) Principal Clause এর Tag হবে।

If you come, I shall go with you, shan’t l?      He told that you were no at home, didn’t he?

Rule-17: Statement এর Subject শিশু, ইতর প্রাণী বা জড় পদার্থ হলে Tag question এ it হবে।

The baby is crying, isn’t  it?  The dog is a faithful animal, isn’t it ?   Our house looks nice, doesn’t it?

Rule-18: দেশ, চাঁদ, পৃথিবী, বসন্ত, ট্রেন, জাহাজ, বিমান Subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে Tag question এ she/it হবে।

The moon shines at night, doesn’t she/it?        Bangladesh is a beautiful country, isn’t she/it?

Rule-19 : Sun, Summer, Winter, Death, War  Subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে Tag Question এ he/it হবে।

The sun is shining, isn’t he/it ?

Rule- 20 : This/ That থাকলে it হবে।

This is my book, isn’t it?     These are  my books, aren’t they ?

Rule-21: Have to, has to, ought to...... থাকলে....

I have to do it, haven’t I ? / don’t I ?         They had to do it,  hadn’t they/ didn’t they?We ought to love our country, oughtn’t we?  We ought not to commit crime, ought we?

Rule-22 : Subject ও Verb এরshort from এর ক্ষেত্রে প্রথমে সংক্ষিপ্ত

আকারটির প্রকৃত রূপ নির্ণয় করে tag question করতে হয়।

He’s=He, is/was/hasHe’d=He would/ hadThey’re = They are/ were     I’m =I amWe’ll= we willLet’s= Let us     She’s going to the NCC Coaching, isn’t she?    He’s  gone to school, hasn’t he?   I ‘d rather die than beg, wouldn’t  I?   I’d meet you, wouldn’t I?  He’d got  a prize, hadn’t he?Let’s there, shall we?  They’re working overtime, aren’t they?We’ll meet you,  won’t we?

Rule-23 : বাক্যে neither of/either of/ all of+ you থাকলে Tag Questions এ you হয়।

All  of you have heard the name, haven’t you ?

Rule-24 : বাক্যে neither of/either of/ all of+  us থাকলে Tag Questions এ we হয়।

All  of us know it, don’t we ?

Rule-25 : বাক্যে neither of/either of/ all of+  them/boys থাকলে Tag Questions এ they হয়।

Neither of the boys will come, will they ?
