'সবুজ অন্ধকার' Short-film ‘Felani’ which will narrate the tragic tale of Felani, a 15-year-old Bangladeshi girl killed by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in 2011. The shooting of the yet-to-release film is now going on in full swing in Kurigram and near the border areas. Based on the brutal incident of Felani’s tragic death, which happened last year, the film is being made by director Yousuf Chowdhury, while its script has been developed and written by Golam Rabbani. Felani’s wedding was supposed to take place the day after her return to Bangladesh. On 7 January, 2011; BSF shot Felani dead when she was crossing illegally into Bangladesh from Paschimbanga, India. Felani’s body was hung from the barbed-wire fence for five hours. Then the BSF men took her down, tied her hands and feet to a bamboo pole, and took her lifeless body away. Her body was handed over to Bangladeshi authorities the next day. She was buried in the yard at her home in Kurigram. About the film, Bhabna said, “As an actor, we have to play many roles. But, doing the role of Felani is not that easy one as it is based on a real-life tragic incident and has emotional ingredients in the character.” “I am excited about my role in the film which depicts the tragic end of a young girl’s dreams. I believe, I will be able to do justice to the role,” she added. Yousuf Chowdhury, director of the film, said, “Felani is not the only one who has been killed brutally by the BSF. In the film, we will portray Felani and her death as an emblem of all the killings in the border.” Apart from Kurigram, the shooting of the film will also be held at different locations of Dhaka, Savar and Sirajganj. short-film ‘Felani’
