Behold, he said to his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship Thy Allah and the Allah of thy fathers, of Abraham, Isma'il and Isaac,- the one (True) Allah. But he shall bear the cost of their food and clothing on equitable terms. No soul shall have a burden laid on it greater than it can bear. No mother shall be Treated unfairly on account of her child. Nor father on account of his child, an heir shall be chargeable in the same way. If they both decide on weaning, by mutual consent, and after due consultation, there is no blame on them. If ye decide on a foster-mother for your offspring, there is no blame on you, provided ye pay (the mother) what ye offered, on equitable terms. But fear Allah and know that Allah sees well what ye do. But not we shall believe in you!" It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not. Behold! he has a father, aged and venerable, (who will grieve for him); so take one of us in his place; for we see that thou art (gracious) in doing good." The leader among them said: "Know ye not that your father did take an oath from you in Allah.s name, and how, before this, ye did fail in your duty with Joseph? ( سورة يوسف , Yusuf, Chapter #12, Verse #81) (42) "Go with this my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father: he will come to see (clearly). Then come ye (here) to me together with all your family." He was indeed good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you (all here) out of the desert, (even) after Satan had sown enmity between me and my brothers. Verily my Lord understandeth best the mysteries of all that He planneth to do, for verily He is full of knowledge and wisdom. ( سورة يوسف , Yusuf, Chapter #12, Verse #100) (46) Gardens of perpetual bliss: they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring: and angels shall enter unto them from every gate (with the salutation): ( سورة الرعد , Ar-Rad, Chapter #13, Verse #23) (47) Their apostles said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority." ( سورة إبراهيم , Ibrahim, Chapter #14, Verse #10) (48) The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of apostles but to preach the Clear Message? ( سورة النحل , An-Nahl, Chapter #16, Verse #35) (49) No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. It is a grievous thing that issues from their mouths as a saying what they say is nothing but falsehood! ( سورة الكهف , Al-Kahf, Chapter #18, Verse #5) (50) "As for the wall, it belonged to two youths, orphans, in the Town; there was, beneath it, a buried treasure, to which they were entitled: their father had been a righteous man: So thy Lord desired that they should attain their age of full strength and get out their treasure - a mercy (and favour) from thy Lord. I did it not of my own accord. Such is the interpretation of (those things) over which thou wast unable to hold patience." ( سورة الكهف , Al-Kahf, Chapter #18, Verse #82) (51) "O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!" ( سورة مريم , Maryam, Chapter #19, Verse #28) (52) Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing? ( سورة مريم , Maryam, Chapter #19, Verse #46) (57) Nay, We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win? It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help! ( سورة الحج , Al-Hajj, Chapter #22, Verse #78) (62) Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah., or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? ( سورة المؤمنون , Al-Mumenoon, Chapter #23, Verse #68) (63) "Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!" And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. ( سورة النور , An-Noor, Chapter #24, Verse #31) (65) It is no fault in the blind nor in one born lame, nor in one afflicted with illness, nor in yourselves, that ye should eat in your own houses, or those of your fathers, or your mothers, or your brothers, or your sisters, or your father's brothers or your father's sisters, or your mother's brothers, or your mother's sisters, or in houses of which the keys are in your possession, or in the house of a sincere friend of yours: there is no blame on you, whether ye eat in company or separately. But if ye enter houses, salute each other - a greeting of blessing and purity as from Allah. Thus does Allah make clear the signs to you: that ye may understand. ( سورة النور , An-Noor, Chapter #24, Verse #61) (66) They will say: "Glory to Thee! not meet was it for us that we should take for protectors others besides Thee: But Thou didst bestow, on them and their fathers, good things (in life), until they forgot the Message: for they were a people (worthless and) lost." ( سورة الفرقان , Al-Furqan, Chapter #25, Verse #18) (67) (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" ( سورة القصص , Al-Qasas, Chapter #28, Verse #25) (76) Said one of the (damsels): "O my (dear) father! engage him on wages: truly the best of men for thee to employ is the (man) who is strong and trusty".... ( سورة القصص , Al-Qasas, Chapter #28, Verse #26) (77) When Moses came to them with Our clear signs, they said: "This is nothing but sorcery faked up: never did we head the like among our fathers of old!" But if ye know not their father's (names, call them) your Brothers in faith, or your maulas. But there is no blame on you if ye make a mistake therein: (what counts is) the intention of your hearts: and Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. ( سورة سبأ , Saba, Chapter #34, Verse #43) (84) In order that thou mayest admonish a people, whose fathers had received no admonition, and who therefore remain heedless (of the Signs of Allah.. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! ( سورة النجم , An-Najm, Chapter #53, Verse #23) (99) "(We) and our fathers of old?" ( سورة الواقعة , Al-Waqia, Chapter #56, Verse #48) (100) Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein (for ever). Allah will be well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve Felicity. ( سورة المجادلة , Al-Mujadila, Chapter #58, Verse #22) (101) There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah. we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal. ( سورة الممتحنة , Al-Mumtahana, Chapter #60, Verse #4) (102) Let the women live (in 'iddat) in the same style as ye live, according to your means: Annoy them not, so as to restrict them. And if they carry (life in their wombs), then spend (your substance) on them until they deliver their burden: and if they suckle your (offspring), give them their recompense: and take mutual counsel together, according to what is just and reasonable. And if ye find yourselves in difficulties, let another woman suckle (the child) on the (father's) behalf. ( سورة الطلاق , At-Talaq, Chapter #65, Verse #6) (103) And from his mother and his father, ( سورة عبس , Abasa, Chapter #80, Verse #35) (104) Perish the hands of the father of Flame! Perish he! ( سورة المسد , Al-Masadd, Chapter #111, Verse #1)
