আজ আমি আজম চৌধুরীর কাছ থেকে একটি মেইল পাই।তিনি আমাকে জানান যে,উনি যেহেতু একজন পেশাজীবী মানুষ এবং চাকুরীসুত্রে তাকে প্রায় বিশ্বের ২৬ টির ও অধিক দেশ ঘোরা হয়েছে।তাই উনি যখন এন্টার্কটিকা থেকে ফেব্রুয়ারী মাসে ফিরলেন,তিনি আবার তার কর্মজীবনে প্রবেশ করলেন।মে মাসে বাংলাবার্তা পত্রিকা তাকে ফোন করে তার থেকে তার অভিযানের ফটো ও সচিত্র বর্ননা সংগ্রহ করেন এবং তারাই তাকে ১ম এন্টার্কটিকা ভ্রমনকারী বলে উল্লেখ করেন। তিনি কখনো জানতেন না যে ইনাম আল হক ১৯৯৭ সালে সেখানে গিয়েছিলেন।ব্লগে এটি ছাপা হওয়ার পর তিনি তা জানতে পারেন।তিনি এতে খুবই আনন্দিত হোন যে এর আগেও একজন বাংলাদেশী সেখানে গিয়েছেন।তিনি ইনাম হক কে অভিনন্দন জানান।আমি তার মেইলটা নিচে দিলামঃ Sorry I was busy and couldn't reply earlier. After reading Mr Tuhin's Bangla Blog I realised that there is some confusion about who was the first person from Bangladesh to set foot in Antarctica. I like to clear that now. You know very well that I am a very private person and I do not like publicity. And thats why apart from 4/5 close friends no one knew that I am planning to go to antarctica. In fact I am sure if you ask my own family member they wouldn't know that I have travelled more than 26 countries so far. I travel because I love travelling and I will continue to travel as long as I am in good health. Anyway I came back from my Antatctic trip in the first week of February 2011 and after about 3 months (May) I had a call from Bangla Barta newspaper in Sydney that as I am the first Bangladeshi to go to Antarctica they want to publish my story with some picture. I said I am not sure about that but if you want to publish I have no objection. And I agreed to send him some picture and a short description of my trip. Anyway if Mr Inam went to Antarctica in 1997 then I have absolutely no hesitation to accept that Mr Inam is the first person from Bangladesh to visit Antarctica and I congratulate him for that. I hope this should clear all the confusion. And I like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Tuhin for taking time to publish my trip in his Blog and express my apology for the confusion.
