They display their skills for everyone to see, hoping that — at the very least — someone acknowledges them. The best of these users achieve Reddit fame and glory. The worst receive a barrage of hate-fueled comments every time they show themselves.

A novelty account can really be anything, as long as it's consistent. The most popular do things such as illustrate popular posts, turn comments into folk songs and retouch other users' old photos.

In the process of creating an incredible amount of sloth-related content for the people of Reddit, Shitty_Watercolour has become a skilled artist and a devoted social media philanthropist.
His posts and comments are Imgur links to hand-painted, humorous works of art. Many celebrities have name-dropped him in their AMAs, most recently Bryan Cranston.

As explained by his username, Animates_Everything tries to animate pretty much, well, everything. The animations are created by artist Jake Olimb and, though he hasn't posted in about a month, we expect he'll soon return to his Reddit throne.

Etch_A_Sketcher is a skilled artist with a unique medium — the Etch-A-Sketch, an impossibly hard-to-maneuver magnetic drawing toy marketed mostly to young children.
He replies to comments and posts with hilarious literal Etch-A-Sketch interpretations. Etch_A_Sketcher's 130,000+ Karma score is evidence of his talent.

The youngest novelty account on our list, DidYouKnowThatFact's account is less than a week old at the time of writing this, though it has already rung up a sizable karma score — over 3,600. The account replies to posts and comments with interesting facts relevant to the topic of discussion.

If you enjoy brief, bizarre folk lyrics, you'll love Indie_Folk_You. Grabbing random comments out of context, Indie_Folk_You turns Redditors' weird thoughts into quick folk choruses. The strangest part is that he's so talented, you'll inevitably get his melodies stuck in your head and find yourself singing about cats and sun gods all day.

If you've ever scrolled through Reddit comment threads and thought, "A lengthy, semi-relevant short story would really complement this," then RelatedShortStory is for you. This novelty account will join a thread at random and post a fictional story on the spot, often several hundred words in length.

The resident cheer-meister of Reddit, IGiveFreeCompliments spreads feel good messages across the forum randomly. A Redditor for only six months, IGiveFreeCompliments already has a Karma score topping over 21,000.

The_Book_Of_Reddit turns mundane comments and posts into chapters and verses from an online meta-ancient scroll. You'll have to have been on Reddit quite a bit to understand most of the jokes, but the payoff is wonderful.
"For the Reddit was seen as a great bastion of the interwebs" is definitely a phrase we'd like Internet archeologists of the future to dig up, so we support this account 100%.
