The foodables — mutant food beasts spawned from a machine that turns water into food — are overcrowding the animated world in Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2.
To help save the day from the overwhelming shrimpanzees, watermelephants, mosquitoasts, tacodile supreme and other food beasts, the film's creators are introducing a new character who resembles some familiar real-world tech luminaries.

"Chester V is a composite of blue-jean billionaires like Steve Jobs and Richard Branson," co-director Kris Pearn told Mashable.
Voiced by MacGruber actor Will Forte, Chester V serves as a famous inventor and CEO of Live Corp. as well as a role model to the movie's lead character, Flint Lockwood.
In the above video shared exclusively with Mashable, a wide-eyed Flint meets a holographic version of Chester V and teams up to thwart Filnt's beast-producing machine.

Co-director Cody Cameron notes that Chester V's vest is shaped like a carrot so that the second he walks, it dangles in front of Flint the entire movie. "It's like a letterman jacket," he said.
The directors made Forte try out several different voices before nailing down the final comedic tone.
"We went with what sounded the most warm, almost a Walt Disney figure somewhere between a grandfather and kooky wizard," Cameron said. "He kind of represents what Flint would become if Flint stays on the path Flint goes on in this film."
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 will arrive in theaters Sept. 27. Aside from Forte, the film features voiceovers by Bill Hader (Flint), Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Benjamin Bratt, Neil Patrick Harris, Terry Crews and Kristen Schaal.
