united we stand, divided we fall : PRAPTI foundation এর ইতিহাস

-------- 'United we stand, divided we fall'. This time tested proverb spoke for itself once again, when almost all bangla bloggers joined hands in support of the sweet little Prapti, a four year old angel suffering from the deadly disease leukaemia. Every single person has babies in their family, be it their own, or of someone close. These cutie muties are the centre of attraction for everyone, filling every single moment every day with joy and happiness. It is no different with Prapti, and her near and dear ones cannot imagine a day without the sunshine she brings upon them all. However, unlike other babies, the sweet sunshine on Prapti's ever smiling face was slowly being hijacked by the deadly virus. The news stroke her family like a thunder. It was as if the whole world became constrained for them. For her loving mother, a life without Prapti was a life not worth living. God Himself couldn't bear such grief, such sadness. Probably the warmth of Prapti's feeble smile had the death angel himself breakdown to tears. Experts discovered it was only in primary stage, and fully curable; albeit through a long and expensive treatment. With a heart full of hope and determination, her auntie Saria Tasnim, like other members of her family, turned to her friends for the badly needed moral and financial support. Being the close and helpful society Bangladesh is, such words of pain didn't take time to spread. From mouth to mouth, news of Prapti's endangered smiled travelled many ears before finally making it to somewhereinblog.net, the first and only (so far) Bangla bloggers forum. Celebrity blogger Omi Rahman Pial first broke the news with his appeal on behalf of Prapti and her family. The message immediately caught the eyes of mystic blogger, Sadiq M. Alam and our little wise friend from Sydney AstoMeye. With their joint efforts, her moribund smile and the optimistic prayers of her family reached all corners of the world, from Sydney to London, New York to Tokyo. Soon enough a handsome amount was raised for this noble cause; but more importantly it brought forward the tender hearts of each and every single member of somewhereinblog.net and their amazing capability to rise above all differences and come shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand for a common cause. Some foresighted bloggers, Kowshik and Kalpurush most notable among them, saw this as an opportunity for something much bigger and wider. This unity gave birth to a dream in their visionary hearts, a dream to extend this wide reaching network to the sky and beyond. In Prapti's cry, these magnanimous souls heard the echoes of the cry of millions other like her. The endeavour to save the sunshine around Prapti transformed into a struggle to save thousand other smiles. 'Miles to go, before we rest, Prapti to smile with the rest' and thus Prapti foundation was born. Prapti shonamoni became the symbol of people's struggle towards changing the world around them. Prapti became PRAPTI
