Groupon Giving Away $5 Million in 'Groupon Bucks'
One million people will find a surprise from Groupon on Wednesday: up to $5,000 worth of "Groupon bucks" good for offers from the company.
Customers who log onto Groupon today via Groupon.com or the company's app will see whether they got the offer. Those who received $5,000 have until Dec. 31 to use their Groupon Bucks. Those who received less than that have until 5 p.m. PST on Wednesday to use the money on any one purchase.

The deal is part of Groupon's fifth anniversary celebration (hence the dollar amounts). As part of the celebration, the company overhauled its site at the beginning of this month for the first time in its history.
To announce the giveaway, Groupon also released this goofy video (below), which gives the company a tongue-in-cheek Ken Burns-esque tribute.
