Google Pulls MyGlass for iOS From Apple App Store

Google made its MyGlass app for Google Glass available for Apple’s iOS on Tuesday — however, just minutes after going live, its App Store page mysteriously disappeared.

The link sending iOS users to an app download page (see below) now returns the message, “The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store.”

When contacted regarding the sudden appearance and disappearance of the new iOS app, an Apple spokesperson told Mashable the decision to pull the app from the store was Google's.
During the brief time the app was available, a quick check of the Google Glass support site still showed instructions indicating the lack of a dedicated iOS app.

The MyGlass app allows users to see the onscreen functions of Google’s Glass device on your smartphone, set up and configure the settings on the Glass device and initialize various functions including screencasts and turn-by-turn directions via voice command. Apple users who own the $1,500 wearable computing device have been asking for an iOS version of the MyGlass app for some time. Google’s long-awaited launch of a dedicated iOS app for Glass would have moved the device from a very expensive Bluetooth accessory for iOS users into a fully functioning smart device that lets iPhone users in on the complete functionality of Google Glass.
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
