Twitter-Powered Vending Machine Dispenses Pandas

A vending machine filled with stuffed animals would be unusual enough, but a vending machine that gives away stuffed animals in exchange for tweets is something else entirely.
Over the course of six days earlier this month, one vending machine in a Vancouver mall dispensed 3,000 stuffed pandas to passersby who tweeted #HomeTweetHome. The machine was sponsored by TELUS, a Canadian telecommunications company, which also gave $1 to the WWF Canada, a conservation group, for every tweet posted with that hashtag. The video, above, was released on Thursday.

This isn't the first time we've seen a stunt involving a vending machine and social media. Pepsi unveiled a Like machine in 2012 that gave away free drinks to fans who Liked the brand on Facebook.
