8 Features We Wish Amazon Prime Had

Amazon Prime is still an often misunderstood membership program. Since its U.S. launch in 2005, Prime has helped frequent shoppers save money with free two-day shipping, as well as offering some services in video streaming and e-book lending.
It's a pretty good deal for $79 a year, but with the company's recent efforts to expand its footprint, it seems likely that Prime will see some major changes. To that end, here's a wish list of some features that would make great additions to the service.

Not only could these make Prime more appealing to members, but they could go a long way in securing Amazon's hold in both shipping services and digital entertainment.
Part of Amazon Prime's appeal is the access to free videos and e-books. To be a real multimedia powerhouse, it would be ideal for Amazon to have some integration within the company's available music features. The Amazon Cloud Player is cool, but it doesn't offer any additional perks to Prime members.
Amazon has made inroads in so many forms of entertainment that it's surprising you can only take advantage of them through an annual subscription or paying a la carte. The company might attract more customers on the media front by following in the footsteps of other video and music services that work on a monthly subscription for streaming access.

Right now, Amazon doesn't support HD video for all mobile devices or living room tech. You can enjoy your HD videos on several models of Kindle Fire, recent iPhones and iPod Touches, and all models of iPad, but Android owners are currently shut out on the mobile side and definitely deserve their due.
Right now, watching Instant Videos requires an Internet connection on almost any platform. Kindle Fire owners can download free videos and watch them offline, but that feature hasn't been added to iOS devices. And as noted earlier, Android owners are completely left out.
On the video front, Amazon's top competitors have been making big strides to produce original shows. While Amazon does technically have its own TV series available for unlimited streaming (and just announced new pilots), the reviews have not been kind. Once Jeff Bezos has an Emmy on his mantlepiece, we'll take the original content seriously.

One of Amazon's most intriguing projects from the past year was an effort to include groceries as a delivery service. AmazonFresh is currently available in Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco, but we can't wait to have the option in other cities. This could be a huge help in rural regions where fresh food isn't always easy to find, or in the food deserts of urban areas.
Amazon is pretty flexible about its ability to ship products outside the U.S., but its services don't really align with the perks of Amazon Prime right now. While the second-day shipping of Prime simply wouldn't be feasible on an international scale, offering some additional discounts to those members would solidify the appeal of the annual fee.
Amazon reviews can be a source of hilarity, but they aren't necessarily informative when you want to make a serious purchase. Tying Amazon in with a stronger social presence, either by partnering with an existing network or allowing members to develop their own connections, would make the reviews more useful.
This could expand into Amazon's entertainment offerings, so you could see if a friend watched a new movie and what he or she thought about it.
