Toyota is recalling 1.9 million Prius hybrid cars worldwide due to a software glitch that could cause the car to stop while driving, the AFP reports.
No accidents have been reported due to this issue, a Toyota company spokesman said. In most cases, the issue could set off the car's warning lights. It could "probably" cause the car to enter failsafe mode, meaning the car would slow down and eventually come to a stop.

The recall covers some 997,000 cars in Japan and 713,000 cars in North America; the rest are mainly in Europe, China and the Middle East.
Toyota is no stranger to recalls. The company recalled approximately 87,000 model year 2010 Priuses and Lexus HS 250HS vehicles in June 2013, due to a problem with the brake pressure accumulator.
The latest call-back, however, is the biggest-ever for the Prius. All in all, Toyota has sold 3.6 million Prius cars globally since the hybrid debuted in 1997.
