5 Apps You Don't Want to Miss

Much to the delight go 90’s kids everywhere, the Tamagotchi is back in the form of an iOS app. NamcoBandai launched its first mobile version of the beloved virtual pet game last year. Now, the company is follwoing it up with L.i.f.e Angel, the second most popular title from the Tamagotchi series. In addition to new gameplay modes, characters, and mini-games, the latest app includes music from Joan Jett and Dave Grohl. The free game is available on iOS.
Hipstamatic, the company that was helping iPhone users create artistic low-res photos long before Instagram, first launched its image discovery and photo-editing app Oggl last May. But the app got a big update this week that added an iPad version and and a new interactive viewing mode to the image sharing and editing platform. The free app is available on iOS.
It may seem like a joke but BroApp is a utility for guys who want to essentially outsource their relationships. Give BroApp your girlfriend's digits and you can tell the app exactly where, when and how to text your significant other. It even has built-in safeguards to prevent them from finding out about your new relationship “helper." The $1.99 app is available on Android and its developer says an iOS version is coming “soon."
Google officially rolled out its much-anticipated Google Now Launcher this week. The launcher puts Google Now’s hands-free voice search right on your home screen and pulls in other handy info like weather, commute times and sports scores to your device’s main screen. Right now the app is limited to users of Google’s Nexus devices or Google Play Store-branded handsets (such as the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4) running Android 4.4, though there is a workaround for other users. The free app is available on Android.
The design community Threadless rolled out its first app this week. The app is similar to the companies web-based platform that crowd sources design ideas from its global user base and eventually turns the most popular designs into products people can actually buy. With the iOS app, users can browse and buy new products, vote for designs they like and follow their favorite artists and creators. The free app is available on iOS.
With all the new gadgets out of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, many of the newest apps may have slipped by.
