Top Mobile Puzzle Game 'Threes' Is Now on Android

If they don't want to be left out of the sliding, number-based puzzle fun, Android owners can now download Threes from the Google Play Store as of Wednesday afternoon. Though they'd better be prepared to not want to do anything else for a while.
Threes is a puzzle game where players slide tiles across the board to combine them into larger numbers. With the exception of numbers 1 and 2, each tile is a multiple of 3 and a combination of two matching numbers. The goal is to get your tiles to reach the biggest numbers for the best scores, all while keeping the four-by-four board from filling up.

The game originally launched on iOS on Feb. 10 and held the top spot in the Paid section of the App Store for three weeks, according an infographic released by the game's developers, Greg Wohlwend and Asher Vollmer. They also said that players cumulatively spend 11 years per day playing Threes.
While the concept of Threes starts off simple, reaching the higher number combinations can get frustrating. The infographic also notes that half the players don't get past the 192 tile, which is made by combining 6s, 12s, 24s, 48s, and 96s. The final score is based on what tiles are on the board after the last possible move, with bigger titles worth more points.

Threes can be purchased for $1.99 on iTunes and Google Play.
