Australia captain Ricky Ponting responded to being run out in his side's World Cup opener by damaged a television set with his bat in the dressing room. The incident during the Group A fixture in Ahmedabad on February 21 has been reported to the International Cricket Council by local officials. But Ponting is unlikely to face disciplinary action, Reuters reported an ICC source as saying. The Tasmanian was caught short of his crease by a direct throw from Chris Mpofu on midwicket boundary as he attempted to return for a second run. He was seen talking angrily to himself as he walked back to the pavilion and it appears his emotions spilled over once he was back in the dressing room, where he saw footage of his dismissal being replayed on television.
