I was reading the history of India’s general elections. Among the 15 elections held so far, Congress (or alliance lead by Congress) formed governments 11 times except the 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th. If you observe closely, even there was some sort of continuum when Congress was not in power (11th to 13th –three consecutive regimes were lead by BJP or BJP alliance). Watch over China and Malaysia. Communist Party has been ruling for decades in the former one and the later country was pioneered by an honest dictator, Mahathir Mohammad, for many years. The main commonality among these countries is that all of them belong to the ‘poor or so called developing’ category and now advancing towards prosperity rapidly. Maybe continuum of regime of same mindset over a long time is the key to prosperity --- at least for the poor countries where corruption and lack of unity among leaders are the most influencing barriers against the journey to development and progress. Hmm…it seems that one of our two major political powers is gonna fall losing its all past glories (?). Who knows? It may turn to be a good thing for the cursed land.
