Radha Rani was a colleague of our Micro Finance Program. She was posted to Shariatpur Sadar Branch. She was newly married. Last 27 June 2009, she went to her respective samity/micro credit group for weekly installment collection in Tulasar union under Shariatpur sadar. Samity locations were Kokil women samity and Pakiza women samity of Rajob Ali Bepari bari in Baishrosi village. A total amount BDT 43,996 was collected from these two women samity. After collection this amount, about 11 am she start move to next samity named Banna women samity for collect weekly installment that samity is located Halem Madbar bari in South goaldi. After end of the office time and results of searching in this area, her body found in a field of Hazi Arshed Ali bepari under Baishrosi village. Her body found lie down in slope of pond under that agri field, Murderers looted collected money and her gold arnaments. Later, Police supper, ASP circle and police officer sadar thana rapidly visited the spot and rescued the dead body of Radha Rani. After spread of this message, among others Media people visited the spot. Protest: Dated 2 July 2009 Protest the Domestic violation protection alliance, Bangladesh National Women Lawyer Samity, Bangladesh Human rights commission, Madaripur Legal Aid Association, Campaign for good governance, Federation of NGOs in Bangladesh, District corruption control committee, Shariatpur government women college and Civil societies brought out protest rally in the Shariatpur town. Condolence Rally: A condolence rally was started from SDS head office premises along with all level of staff, civil society, elite, women samity members and relatives of Radha Rani. The Rally moving around the district town and stop in Deputy Commissioner Office premises. More then 500 hundred people participated in this condolence rally. Memorandum: Submitted a memorandum to the Home Ministry of The Government of Bangladesh through the Deputy Commissioner-Shariatpur by Mrs, Romena Afroza-from Domestic Violation Protection Alliance-Shariatpur district, Advocate Rowshan Ara Begum-Chairperson-Bangladesh Human rights commission-Shariatpur district and Professor Sirajul Hague-Chairperson-district Anti-corruption protection committee demanding arrest and punished the murderers. Human Chain: Various human right organizations, Social institutions, Educational institution, Non government organization, Shariatpur Press Club, Media personnel and Civil Socities are places and united a human chain in front of the Deputy Commissioner Office premises for punishment of murderer of Radha Rani. More then 1000 people from all walks of life participated and delivered their protest voice to ensure justice and punishment of the murderer.
