We're just hours away from the unveiling of the new Apple iPhone and are anxious to see which rumors will turn out to be true.
It's not the rumored fingerprint scanner or new casing colors that iPhone users truly crave. According to comments in a recent Mashable open thread that asked readers for their wish lists of features, many responded with a plea for improved battery life and greater device durability to withstand drops.

What's most interesting about weeding through the comments is the trend that people want an improved experience on basic features, rather than new bells and whistles.
In fact, many commenters wanted a bigger screen so they could view text more easily. Although the iPhone's 4-inch display could grow anywhere from 4.8 inches to 6 inches, it's unlikely we'll see a jump that big at today's event. Leaked pictures show the exterior of the iPhone 5S looking the same as its predecessor.
Other specs on user wish lists include built-in microSD, which Apple doesn't support without an adaptor, and a quad-core processor. Unlikely features listed in the comments include waterproof casing and night vision capabilities.
