Placemaking is an approach to transforming communities around the world by creating and revitalizing open, public spaces. An area of a neighborhood that was once run down or abandoned can be brought to life with some love from its community. Creating a public destination where people come together can strengthen local culture and identity and can also bolster sustainability, economic development and quality of life.
For our placemaking Instagram contest, take a photo or Instagram video of a place — a park, market, waterfront, plaza, etc. — that makes your community unique and special, and you could win a flight on Southwest Airlines to the Social Good Summit in New York City!
